1-31-08

Warmup, No set Elite x 1, CCS reps on #3 x 7 with some elite singles to finsh. Usual front and back levering with wrist curls 155x10. WC's felt decent, trying to work back into them slow.

Today's training

Dusted off the bending pads for the first time in a while and bent a 7'' Hexabastard in probably 30 secs followed by an attempt at a 5.5'' Hexabastard which I only kinked 10 degrees. Need to get back on this, I have done an Edgin a 5.5'' Hexabastard, and a 6.5'' Shiny Bastard from FBBC in the past. It would be nice to get back up there again.

For grippers, some CCS closes on the #3 for warmup then one attempt on my solid #3.5 that was ~1/16'' off. Be very nice to close it this way again. Finished with paralell closes on elite and CCS rep sets with #3 of which the best was 5 reps with a CC inserted between every rep. Grinding the handles on the elite, felt very solid. May move to the 3.5 for work sets in a workout or two.

Forearm work with 6lb maul. I sit in a chair with my arm layed over my leg so it is paralell with the floor and lower the hammer until the back of the head is level with my hand in a front lever style and then raise it back up. This isolates the living shit out of the top of your wrist! One set max reps of that followed by one set of max reps levering to the rear (think about 30 reps?). This routine has carried over to a lot of other areas of grip and has put some extra mass on my forearms. Will be compiling a gripper closing article soon, be on the lookout.

If you have never seen "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" you should first be slapped, and the next sound that follows should be the crack from air filling the vacuum of your departed body from going to the video store.

Mark Felix is a freak! 301 Rolling Thunder

Training

Has been raining like hell and hasn't gotten above 45 degrees for 3 days straight, so nothing but bodyweight stuff and grippers for the moment.

First post (no shit)

In this blog I will discuss topics of interest to me, rant, log my training and post pretty much anything I feel like. Topics like weightlifting, shooting, survivalism, grip training and current events are fair game.
